**DO NOT COMPRESS ** uploaded graphic and text files. (.SIT or .ZIP compression should only be used for executable program files. Self-extracting archives are not accepted.)
**IMPORTANT** All files uploaded MUST be the original work of the uploader. Going beyond copyright laws (you may not legally distribute the work of another person without their permission), GemStone III wishes all files in our libraries to be the original creations of our players. If we think there is some doubt that a file was created by the uploader, we will require that the file be uploaded again with a specific statement that "This file was created by <Player or Character Name>, Copyright <Year>" before we can release the file.
**IMPORTANT** Character portraits should not be uploaded without express permission from that particular character's player (if uploader is someone other than player).
Check the following to make sure your file complies with library submission guidelines :
1. Is your file specifically related to the game GemStone III?
2. Is your file long enough to be a software file? Small amounts of information should be posted in the GemStone III Message area.
3. If you are thinking about uploading a player guide, have you discussed your recommendations in the message boards with other players? Please do! This will prevent a file from being rejected because the information in the file is inaccurate. We ask that players reach at least level 5, and preferably level 10, in their chosen profession before writing a player guide.
4. Have you checked your grammar and spelling?
5. Did you use a standardized file format? It's best if written files are uploaded in TXT format and graphic files in GIF or JPG format (BMP files are less preferable, due to their larger sizes). If the type of file you are uploading does not allow for a standardized format, then state clearly in the file description exactly what program will be needed to open and read your file. 6. Does your file comply with Simutronics GemStone III Policy guidelines? (To review see the "Simutronics Policy" document in the forum information folder.) Non-compliance with policy includes but is not limited to:
-Giving extensive hints or step by step directions for getting through game puzzles.
-Encouraging any kind of player vs. player combat.
-Discussing information about orders, houses or guilds that should only be discussed in the game.
